A significant stride has been made in 2021 in the casting mould production process, within the optimization/automation phase of this crucial part of production, by way of constructing a moulding sand storage hopper. The hopper was built using the knowledge and skills of our foundry’s employees and with the technical support from the company SIAPRO d.o.o. from Slovenia which had also provided a part of the equipment forming an integral part of the hopper. Great advances have also been made in the segment of moulding sand management, in the process following its use in the foundry. Consequently, it was granted the status of a by-product that is harmless to health, and as such, can further be used in construction. Thereby, the DUNI foundry achieved one of its main strategic objectives for creating a long-term sustainable business.
